چکیده

The supernova remnant G0.9+0.1 has long been inferred to contain a central energetic pulsar. In observations with the NRAO Green Bank Telescope at 2 GHz, we have detected radio pulsations from PSR J1747–2809. The pulsar has a rotation period of 52 ms, and a spin-down luminosity of Ė = 4.3×1037 erg s−1, the second largest among known Galactic pulsars. With a dispersion measure of DM = 1133 pc cm−3, PSR J1747–2809 is distant, at ≈ 13 kpc according to the NE2001 electron density model, although it could be located as close as the Galactic center. The pulse profile is greatly scatter-broadened at a frequency of 2 GHz, so that it is effectively undetectable at 1.4 GHz, and is very faint, with period-averaged flux density of 40μJy at 2 GHz. Discovery of X–rays from the composite supernova remnant G0.9+0.1 with the BeppoSAX satellite

Using the BeppoSAX satellite we have obtained the first secure X–ray detection of the supernova remnant G0.9+0.1. The 1–10 keV spectrum can be described with an absorbed power law with α ∼ 3 and NH ∼ 3×10 23 cm. The high column density supports a distance similar to that of the Galactic Center. The X-ray emission, with a luminosity LX ∼ 10 35d210 erg s , coincides with the central radio core, c...

Chandra Observations of the Pulsar Wind Nebula in Snr G 0 . 9 + 0

We present observations with the Chandra X-ray Observatory of the pulsar wind nebula (PWN) within the supernova remnant G0.9+0.1. At Chandra’s high resolution, the PWN has a clear axial symmetry; a faint X-ray point source lying along the symmetry axis possibly corresponds to the pulsar itself. We argue that the nebular morphology can be explained in terms of a torus of emission in the pulsar’s...

X-ray emission from the galactic center region supernova remnant G0.9+0.1

We report the results of a BeppoSAX observation of the composite supernova remnant G0.9+0.1, located in the Galactic Center region. This new observation, in which the core of G0.9+0.1 is observed on–axis, confirms our previous results obtained from a pointing in which the supernova remnant was serendipitously observed at a large off–axis angle. The better quality of the new data allows us to co...
